Privacy Policy

PiTools (pitools.xyz) is a set of free browser-based tools, including our Image Resizer and Mirror Image Generator. This page explains what happens to your data when you use our site — in plain language, without the legal fluff.

The short version

We built PiTools so that your images never leave your device. When you upload a photo to resize or compress, it’s processed entirely inside your own browser using JavaScript — it is not sent to our servers, we don’t see it, and we don’t store it anywhere. Once you close the tab or upload a new image, it’s gone.

That said, like almost every website, we do collect a small amount of technical data to keep the site running and to understand how people use it. Here’s the full breakdown.

What we collect

1. Your images and files

Never touched by our servers. All resizing, cropping, and compression happens locally in your browser tab. If your internet disconnects halfway through, the tool still works, because nothing was being uploaded in the first place.

2. Basic usage analytics

We use standard web analytics (similar to Google Analytics) to see things like which pages are visited, how long people stay, what device/browser they’re using, and roughly which country they’re visiting from. This helps us figure out which tools people actually want and where the site is slow or confusing. This data is aggregated and not tied to your name or identity.

3. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies for basic site functionality (like remembering your last-used settings, such as output format or quality slider position) and for analytics purposes described above. We don’t use cookies to build advertising profiles of individual users.

4. Server logs

Like any web server, ours automatically logs standard information for every visit — IP address, browser type, referring page, and timestamp. This is fairly normal and is used for security (catching abuse or bot traffic) and troubleshooting, not for tracking individuals.

5. Contact form submissions

If you email us or use a contact form on the site, we’ll obviously see whatever you type in — your message, and the email address you gave us. We only use this to reply to you. We don’t add you to a mailing list unless you specifically ask us to.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t sell your data. There’s nothing to sell — we don’t have your images or a profile of you to begin with.
  • We don’t require sign-up, so we don’t hold accounts, passwords, or personal profiles.
  • We don’t share your uploaded files with anyone, because they never reach us.

Third-party services

We may use third-party services for hosting, analytics, and (in the future) advertising to keep this site free. These providers may set their own cookies or collect technical data as described in their own privacy policies. If we run ads on the site, ad networks may use cookies to show relevant ads — you can usually opt out of this through your browser settings or via Google’s Ads Settings if Google-served ads are used.

Children’s privacy

PiTools isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information through a contact form, let us know and we’ll remove it.

Your choices

Because we don’t store your images or maintain user accounts, there isn’t much “your data” to request or delete beyond what’s mentioned above. If you’d like your contact-form messages or emails deleted from our records, just email us and we’ll take care of it.

You can also clear cookies for pitools.xyz anytime through your browser settings — this won’t affect how the tools work, since processing happens locally anyway.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site works — for example, if we ever add server-side processing or new analytics tools — we’ll update this page and change the “Last updated” date at the top. We’d recommend checking back occasionally if you’re curious, but we won’t make sneaky changes without reflecting them here.
